  7. This file is NOT part of the GNU Emacs, nor (a port of) any official
  8. GNU software. It is an elisp package for use with GNU emacs, and
  9. util/gnu was the best place I could find for it.

  11. Simple general documentation reference database for GNU Emacs.
  12. Use keywords to search for info in all different kinds of
  13. documentation files on your system.

  15. Due to the overwhelming response of exactly 0 (zero!) emails, I have
  16. chosen to try once more adding the utilities in the deal. (They were
  17. temporarily lost in a disk crasch last time I uploaded this.)

  19. The archive contains the following files:
  20. sdoc.readme - This file
  21. sdoc        - Gnu Info file
  22. sdoc.el     - Gnuemacs elisp file
  23. sdocutil    - Gnu Info file
  24. sdocutil.el - Gnuemacs elisp file with database management utility functions.
  25. sdoc.fileformat
  26. sdoc.regexps - For the extremely curious.

  28. Installation etc is covered in the info file sdoc.

  30. To read it, press 'g' in info and write the filename for the sdoc info
  31. file in parenthesis. ("(ram:sdoc/sdoc)" if you unpacked the archive in
  32. 'ram:')

  34. Invoking info with a prefix (like ^U-^H-I) might work too.
